Trailing late in its first game as a member of the Delaware Valley League, Atchison County Community High School showed its mettle with a late go-ahead touchdown and a gritty defensive stand to seal a 19-14 season-opening victory Friday night at Troy.
Even the fans were sweating it out Tuesday when former Big 7 league rivals Maur Hill-Mount Academy and Atchison County Community High School squared off in the first volleyball match as members of the Delaware Valley League.
Sure, it was because the air conditioning wasn’t working, but it was still intense.
Atchison County Community High School and Maur Hill-Mount Academy moved to the Delaware Valley League for one reason: to give each athlete a chance for victory every time they suit up.
